Abstract Logo Animation In Alight Motion - Tutorial Animation In Alight Motion

 

INTRODUCTION

so hey everyone welcome back to my new a light motion tutorial and today i'm going to show you how you can create an abstract logo animation inside of a light motion we will be covering many different techniques throughout the complete tutorial so make sure you stay tuned throughout the video so that you don't miss out anything before starting this video if you're watching my video for the very first time make sure to subscribe to the channel and like that video and also press the bell icon

CREATE A NEW PROJECT

 so you always get notified whenever i post a new video with that said let's start the video open a light motion and create a new project select aspect ratio 16 is to 9 select resolution 1080p and frame rate 30fps then click on create project first we will make a background for that click on plus icon and add rectangle shape now to make it full screen click on three dots and select stretch to composition area then increase layer duration to 4 seconds now we will change background color go to color and fill option and choose black color then click on color plate option and increase middle slider to 5 to get a nice dark gray color 

ADD LOGO

now we will add our logo for that click on plus icon then go to media and add your logo now we will adjust the logo size for that go to move and transform click on scale option and decrease logo size  to animate our logo first we will create a vector shape of our logo for that click on plus icon then click on vector drawing option enable pan and zoom option if you are using older version of a light motion then you don't see this feature so update your app if you want to use this feature pinch with two fingers apart to zoom in move the cursor to the corner of our logo like this and add point then move the cursor to another corner and add point

COLOUR SHAPE 1

 now follow the same process to complete the shape  also adjust the points if required to make the shape perfect follow the same process to make all the shapes   after making all the shapes pinch together to zoom out select shape 1 layer go to color and fill option and choose any color you want i am using white color but you are free to use any color you want now also change color of shape 2 and shape 3 layers and hide logo layer now select all shape layers go to end of this video and click on this option to increase layer duration now we make duplicate layers click on layer option and select duplicate layer then select all duplicate layers and make a group layer after that rename the layer now select shape one layer 

COLOUR AND FILL

go to color and fill and disable color then go to border and shadow and enable stroke change stroke color according to your choice i am using light green color but you are free to use any color you want increase stroke size to 50  and add keyframe at starting then go to around 24 frames  and add keyframe and increase stroke size to 95. now we will go to speed graph and make curve like this to make this animation smooth now we will animate the stroke for that we go to effects and add drawing progress effect and change end value to zero and add keyframe at starting then go to around 24 frames and add keyframe change end value to 100  then

DUPLICATE LAYERS

 go to speed graph and make curve like this after that click on layer option and copy layer style then go back and select shape 2 and shape 3 layer click on layer option and select paste style deselect move and transform and blending option and click on paste style so that we get the same animation in all the shape layers you can use this shortcut method to paste layer style in different layers now make a duplicate layer of shape one layer then select duplicate shape one layer go to border and shadow and change stroke color to white go to first keyframe and change stroke size to 30. after that we go back and copy layer style now we select both shape 2 and shape 3 layer and make duplicate layers then select duplicate layers 

MOVE AND TRANSFORM

click on layer option and select paste style deselect move and transform and blending option and click on paste  now select all the duplicate layers and move them four frames forward so that we can see both the stroke animation which will create this cool animation now we will mask all shape layers so that our stroke animation only show inside the logo for that first we select main logo layer go to edit group select and copy all layers then we go back to main composition and paste all layers  now we will select all shape 1 layers and click on masking group option then rename the group layer now select all shape two layers and click on masking group option after that rename the group layer  now do the same thing for shape 3 layers 

DRAWING PROGRESS

 now we will add more detail to our animation again click on layer option and paste three layers then select shape one layer go to color and fill option and disable its color then go to border and shadow enable stroke and change stroke color to white and also change size to five after that we will go to move and transform double click on position icon to edit pivot point and move the pivot point to the center of the shape like this then click on scale option and increase its size little bit like this then we go to effects and add drawing progress effect change end value to zero then 

STROKE

we go to starting and add keyframe after that we go to around 22 frames and add keyframe change end value to 100 now we will make this animation smooth click on speed graph and make curve like this now we go to around two frames then click on start and add one keyframe then we go to around 24 frames and add another keyframe  and change start value to 100. after that speed curve like this now we will select shape to layer and disable its color then we go to border and shadow and enable stroke change stroke color to white and change stroke size to 5 then go to move and transform double click on position and move pivot point to the center of the shape like this after that increases its size a little bit 

MAIN LOGO LAYER

now select shape 3 layer and do the same thing   after that select shape one layer and copy layer style then select shape 2 and shape 3 layers click on layer option and select paste style option deselect move and transform and blending option and click on paste and we will get this animation now we will select all the layer except logo layer then we go to around one second and six frames and trim the layers from right side now we will use the main logo layer first we will drag the layer and place above all layers and unhide layer then we go to around 25 frames and trim the layer from left side after that we go around one second and trim the layer from right side we also change the logo color for that we will go to effects and add solid color and change the color to dark gray 

COMPOSITION

now we click on plus icon and add polygon shape then we go to edit shape here we change sides to three so that we get the triangle shape after that we will move the polygon layer down and place below mask one layer now we will animate this shape first we will go to move and transform then go to scale and increase its size so that we can see the shape properly then we go to position and align it in center after changing the position we go back to scale and add keyframe at starting and change its size to zero then we will go to one second and six frames and add keyframe and increase shape size until let's cover the composition like this now we will add speed curve click on speed graph option and make a curve like this also 

DUPLICATE LAYERS OPTION

we will copy the curve so that we can use it later then we will go to color and fill and change shape color to light green then we make a duplicate layer select duplicate layer go to color and fill and change its color to dark gray then we will go to move and transform click on scale option and move the first keyframe to one second so that we can add some delay between both the animation and our animation look like this now we will select both the polygon layers then we go to around one second and six frames and trim both the layers now we select main logo layer and make a duplicate layer then we will select the duplicate layer and we move the layer to one second and seven frames also we increase the layer duration to 4 seconds 

SPEED CURVES

now we'll change the logo color to white for that we will go to effects and delete solid color effect now to animate this logo first we will go to move and transform and click on scale option first we will add keyframe at starting then we go to around 1 second and 19 frames and add keyframe after that we go to around two seconds and two frames and add another keyframe then we will go to first keyframe and decrease logo size  then we go to second keyframe and we will increase logo size after that we will go to last keyframe and here we will decrease the logo size just like this to create the bounce effect now we will add speed curve click on speed graph icon and we make curve like this 

BLENDING OPTIONS

 now we will add rotation to our logo for that we will go to effects and add fill layer effect  then we will add keyframe at starting after that we go to around 2 seconds and 2 frames and add keyframe and we change angle value to minus 360 degree  then we go to speed graph and paste curve which we copied before after that we make a duplicate layer  then we select the below layer and go to edit group here we will select shape one layer and we'll do the color and fill and it's disable color then we go to border and shadow here we enable stroke and change stroke color to white and we will change stroke size to 5. after that we will copy layer style then we will select shape 2 and shape 3 layers and click on layer option here we will select paste style deselect move and transform and blending option and click on paste then

3D LOOK

 we go back to main composition and we select below stroke layer which we made now go to move and transform and we add keyframe at starting then we go to around 1 second and 19 frames and add keyframe then we go to around 2 seconds and 2 frames and add keyframe after that we will go to second keyframe and change its position like this this will give a 3d look to our logo now we will click on speed graph and paste curve which we copy before and make a duplicate layer now we will select below layer again we go to move and transform here we will go to second keyframe and change its position like this then again we make a duplicate layer and follow the same process one more time so that we get this cool 3d look  

CONCLUSION
