INTRODUCTION

hey what's up boys and girls uneasily I'm from sbk Edits Official and today we have some really cool news we're actually planning on uploading three times a week instead of two we're gonna pump it up in 2018 a little bit more content for you guys and so yeah well I learn altogether a little bit  more and a little bit more frequent and try to improve the quality of course and we're also going to start doing motion graphic Mondays which will include everything motion graphic related such as intro so lower thirds and stuff like that using Alight Motion .

REMOVE OBJECT

most of the time and on Wednesdays we will be doing random uploads depending on what the subject of that video is at that moment and on Fridays we're going to be doing filmmaking Fridays which is a pretty cool name if you ask me we're going to be covering everything filmmaking related so that can be filmmaking itself tips and tricks camera gear editing tips and tricks visual effects everything that has to do with filmmaking will be covered on Fridays alright so without further ado today it's the first filmmaking Friday and it's going to be pretty basic but today we're going to see how to remove several things from your shop if your shop has movement in it how to how to remove an object.

FOOTAGE

we're going to see two different methods on this one is a simpler method that is really easy to do if you have a simpler removal in your scene now we're going to look at a pretty advanced method on how to remove objects in your scene and how to replace objects in your scene when there's a lot of movement going on with the camera so we're going to take a look at two different methods of course if you're going to be following the instructions of this tutorial correctly it should be no problem for you to follow along depending on your skill level alright so I actually prepared two files with link in the description you can go ahead and download them so you can follow along with this tutorial using the exact same footage as I have so let's jump into it if you enjoy my videos be sure to hit the subscribe button and hit the bell icon to make sure that you get notified.

INDIVIDUAL COMPOSITION

when I upload new videos all right here we are in Alight Motion and the first thing that I will do is go to the project manager right here and import my video files again you can download these with link in the description so you can follow along with the exact same footage right here so I will import that and then I will select both of these files and just drag them onto a new composition here I'm going to select multiple compositions and click OK that will put each of these videos in an individual composition open up the outdoor scene first and this is actually a rather simple removal that we're going to do right here so as you can see the shot isn't perfectly clear but it's just as demonstration so it doesn't really matter and we have these cars in the background here.

EXAMPLE

we want to remove those and in our shot and as you can see our shot actually moves pretty much but as you can see in the background it's pretty far away so that means it doesn't really have any perspective changes it doesn't rotate in 3d so it's just a position and that is moving and a little bit of the irritation of the camera angle but apart from that it stays red or 2d so in this case you can do your removals in Alight Motion itself so we could go to the beginning of our frame and click on our video file then right here you can go to the Trekker if you don't see that you can go to window and open up the Trekker which is right here and then you can click right here in the Trekker window to track the motion I will get this icon on your screen what we want to do is well is just select the position annotation so if you click on that you will get two of these track points on your screen so what we want to do is just find the spot in our shot where we have a lot of things going on for example this gray car is a perfect example.

TRACKERS

then for this one we'll take the darker car right here in the background so we have these two cars and now what we will do is just hit the play icon right here or actually the track forward and that will do its job so we'll track or shop it's really important that you find a spot that has a lot of contrast a lot of things going on because if you're going to select a solid surface the Trekker won't have enough information to look at where to track on that point do so right here we can see that the track has been done correctly and the cars are still in the square so that's perfect what we'll do is create a new null object now so I'll right-click new null object and we'll hit the return key on our keyboard and just rename this to track data okay go back to the tracker window and select edit target and make sure that the track data is selected right here you can still like that right here and click OK okay.

FREEZE THE FRAME

now you click apply right here applied for the X&Y and click OK what that will do is it will apply all the data from our track to the middle object and as you can see right here now we have a bunch of keyframes and that actually includes the position of the node and to keep it exactly in place and you can actually see the null object stays perfectly in place right here ok so we can close everything down and now what we will do is select our video and we'll go to edit and duplicate our video then right click on our video at the end or at the beginning let's take the beginning of our composition right click time and freeze the frame now we actually have a still of the entire shot it's really important that you find the spot in your video depending on the video you're using where you have as much information of your shot to do your removal and then afterwards .

TRACK INFORMATION

you can start your track from there before we continue this video I would like to present you our website designed for filmmakers and video editors to improve their workflow we offer templates presets high-quality pre-made packs soundscapes essential graphics and much more if you don't have time to create something of your own or you just want to speed up your workflow definitely check out our website with a link in the description below let's say we start from the beginning we must make sure that our x career actually stays at the beginning of our key frame over overtime line so we'll double-click this this will open up a new tab layer so we'll go yeah individually in that layer we can actually delete all the track info so we'll press U on the keyboard and just delete and this tracking information.

ZOOM IN SHOT

now let's zoom in on our shot a little bit and go to our clone stamp tool which is right here click on it and then we'll have a brush which you can resize right here make it a little bit smaller there we go maybe even smaller okay perfect now we'll hold alt on the keyboard and select a sample location to take our information forever from so for example I'll start and sample it here and by holding alt and clicking on the Left mouse button and then we'll just start like painting over these cards like this and we can also click over here and maybe replace it a little bit I'm just going to do it very roughly if you want more detail you spend more time it's quite obvious but in this tutorial it's just a demonstration we already don't see that car anymore and then right over here we can also start removing a little bit of that car you can see very rapid and totally not perfect of course you will spend more time if you want to do it perfectly but there we go it's it's pretty far away.

PEN TOOL

so we'll never realize it there we go we painted it away it's not perfect but as you can see the cars are completely gone so now what we want to do is click on that layer go back to the composition view port right here so we have our location here what we want to do is go to layer and pre-compose that shot and we'll rename this to clone removal for example and look like okay and then what we want to do is just go to the pen tool zoom in a little bit and just draw this part out of the shot okay perfect let's press F on the keyboard to feather it a little bit so feather it out so you don't actually see the scenes and depending on the light situation that could change so that will just fix it a little bit so now what I want to do is pick the pic with a tool and just select and just drag it over the track data node and that's going to take the information off the track data nil and it's now going to be parented and it's going to move along with the null object.

3D PERSPECTIVE

so if we're going to preview this we can see that it's sticking into place and it's doing a perfect job actually because it's so far away it doesn't change in 3d perspective which is really important as it won't work because this is just a 2-d plug-in from winning After Effects so this is really for basic stuff like this far away or if you have simple removals in the foreground that don't change in perspective all right so this shop is now done let's take a look at the outer shot it's a little bit more complex we're also going to take a look on how to replace it maybe adil different text on there so I will open up the watch shot and right here these are actually just my watches I'm a huge watch fan and there we go so we're actually going to rotate and as you can see right now it actually does change in perspective there is where the Trekker of After Effects itself lacks a little bit it's not made for these type of shots.
